For the final project we were given the option to use any of the mediums we have learned in this class. I genuinely did not know which to use as I had fun with all of them (coding not included) so I asked Jeff point blank what I should make and he said “poster”.
So here I am with my poster. I wanted to do something with rock climbing because I really like it and for the first assignment I actually was originally going to do an Alex Harnold and His Taipei 101 Climb poster but didn't. So for this assignment I was determined to use climbing as the poster topic, by chance the World climbing Prague 2026 competition was held this past weekend so I thought to myself who ever would win is who I would make a poster for. The weekend was incredible as the winner for boulder girls won also for lead, the winner for boulder for boys is the first man to win 4 consecutive gold medals and the lead winner won the first ever gold medal for indonesia in lead climbing it was also his first final ever, so I had a very tough decision to make, in the end because I like boulder more I went with the American winner named Annie Sanders.
In the beginning (as seen in first draft above) I wanted to use Czechs colors for the word “Prague” because I thought it would be a cool add on however after doing that, it became hard to read and I also felt like the poster didn't have enough information so I added “WC and 2026” next to it, however with the gradient it was hard to read and I was also feeling like the background was empty. I decided to add a black gradient and write Annie sanders in a low opacity to give it more of a background and make it not empty. I also changed the color for the gradient of the “wc prague 2026” to a solid color, originally a teal but after not liking it I changed it to a more lavender blue color as I felt it suited the poster better.
