Written Part

The poster I made would be for an art piece in an exhibition in The Met and is also an exhibition poster at the same time. It is based off of a real exhibition that occurred however they had a completely different mascot for it. Ideally The Met would use this to advertise the exhibition and its pieces. This poster would be shared on both The Met’s website where they show all current exhibitions, and its social media platforms to hopefully draw in the younger crowd as well as the older crowd.

A choice in the poster I made was the sort of mirror effect we see. I felt that the black background was too bland and empty and so I “spiced” things up by taking the Pendant Mask, copying it, reversing it and then making the opacity 30% which is how I made this effect.

Another choice I made on purpose was the color scheme of both the red and the light-ish blue. The red is the classic color of The Met so I felt that for a poster for The Met, I should try to incorporate that color somewhere. As for the light-ish blue, that was the color for the poster that was originally for the limited exhibition, and the word “Mar” means sea so I wanted to include the blue that they used.
